Carli Thorpe has a strong understanding of procurement, contract and category management within the HE sector and in particular within Higher Education Libraries. During her career, Carli has always put stakeholders at the heart of the work she does, developing strong collaborative working groups and relationships, including presenting at conferences, delivering webinars and establishing open channels of communication across relevant sector groups and organisations.
She has excellent experience with the tendering process including procurement strategy development, preparation of EU compliant tender documents, developing evaluation criteria that will drive best value and service delivery from the contracts, contract award, implementation, launch and contract management.
Carli joined SUMS Consulting as an associate in 2020. One of her most recent roles was as a Category Manager at SUPC where she led in the complex category of library books, ebooks and journal subscriptions. She then briefly spent some time as a Business Development Manager at a subscriptions services provider which gave her a unique perspective and valuable insight as a supplier to the sector.
Outside of this role, Carli is also a qualified Pilates Instructor. She is studying to become a transformational coach and mentor using an energy psychology methodology and has a passion for health and wellbeing, including spiritual growth.
