Keran is a Higher Education consultant with over 25 years’ experience in university admissions and recruitment.  She has delivered several transformational change projects including streamlining processes, restructuring teams, implementing new CRM and MI systems, and improved admissions and recruitment policies and practices.

Prior to establishing her own consultancy in 2019, Keran was Head of Admissions at Swansea University for 15 years.  She has a consistent track-record in leadership and in delivering strategic and operational-level change and major improvements in business performance.  In 2014 she received the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Award for Outstanding Student Admissions Team.

Keran’s strengths as a consultant result from a combination of extensive senior Higher Education leadership; expertise in HE admissions policy and compliance frameworks; in-depth knowledge of student recruitment and admissions practices and strategy; detailed understanding of Management Information; and an ability to apply this experience and knowledge at a strategic and operational level to achieve results.  She is known for building very strong collaborative relationships, credibility and trust with stakeholders and the ability to translate ideas into actions.

Examples of previous consultancy  projects include:

  • An in-depth review of a post-92 university’s admissions function providing recommendations on improvements to admissions processes, operational structures and systems
  • A radical overhaul of a top-30 university’s English Language requirements policy
  • Working with a university to create an online dashboard of statistical and forecasting reports, including real-time forecasting during Clearing
  • A review of a university’s CAS issuing policy and compliance with UKVI regulations.

In her spare time, Keran enjoys reading, walking, and exploring the UK in her campervan.
