Robert joined SUMS as an associate in 2022 after running the timetable team at the University of Sussex. There he oversaw the implementation of the Syllabus Plus Enterprise edition as well as refining the data capture and scheduling techniques in use at the university.
Rob brings over 20 years of experience in timetabling in the HE sector and a strong background in process refinement to SUMS. As an associate consultant, he can support our clients and members with all aspects of the timetabling process within their institution.
Rob strongly believes any successful timetabling project must be underpinned by the most accurate data available and is determined to make that a top priority throughout his working portfolio. Previous to working at the University of Sussex, Rob worked as a web developer at Prudential and continues to use his IT knowledge to provide the most effective solutions possible.
Recently, Rob was involved in a curriculum review at the University of Sussex. The review led to the streamlining of the postgraduate offering across all schools. He was heavily involved with the schools, working towards an efficient syllabus that produced a much more effective timetable, which led to an uptick in satisfaction across the student experience.
Rob is a keen cyclist and walker and is passionate about the environment and issues around climate change. He is keen to make all of his work as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible while delivering his best efforts to our clients and the SUMS community.
