Through her varied experience, Tina can help SUMS members and clients identify and implement appropriate enterprise, knowledge transfer and widening participation strategies.  She can also support research services operations including improving communications at all necessary levels.

Together with her business partner, Christine Ray, Tina is one half of TCR UK Solutions.  Tina has delivered training within Imperial College’s enterprise programmes and worked with in2scienceUK.org, an award-winning charity providing young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with hosted placements and skills training to empower them to progress to study science, technology, engineering or mathematics.  Our work supporting the expansion of in2scienceUK’s programme has connected us with widening participation programmes at universities across the country.

Tina was the Head of Contracts and Intellectual Property for Rothamsted Research, a BBSRC Institute from 1998 to 2006, responsible for contracts supporting sponsored research (£13.6m, 2006), confidentiality, material transfer, and licensing arrangements. She implemented a contract management system for internal and external tracking and reporting and was Rothamsted’s project manager for large consortium arrangements, including EU and some DEFRA-funded activity. Tina devised and implemented knowledge transfer approaches for agri-tech developments varying from dissemination to farming communities, to pursuing patent applications and out-licensing.
