Dawn brings more than 15 years of higher education experience to SUMS, having worked in various marketing and management roles  and now as a marketing and higher education consultant. She has experience in both Scotland and England and at post-1992 and Russell Group universities.

Dawn brings more than 15 years of higher education experience to SUMS, having worked in various marketing and management roles  and now as a marketing and higher education consultant. She has experience in both Scotland and England and at post-1992 and Russell Group universities.

After beginning her career in business tourism, Dawn held a number of student recruitment and marketing project management roles at the University of Nottingham and went on to work at the University of Edinburgh. During her time at Edinburgh Napier University, Dawn built and developed a highly successful marketing, conversion and market intelligence team from scratch. Her work in international marketing and conversion strategy development had a direct impact in achieving ambitious international targets for the University.

Dawn’s work at Edinburgh Napier focussed heavily on CRM and marketing systems development and saw her play a key role on the CRM project board and in the procurement of marketing systems, as well as deliver a number of impactful projects in this area.

Recent consultancy project work includes a management information and reporting review, an end-to-end customer journey review and roll-out of a new University brand campaign.

Dawn has a passion for copy and brand. She has an excellent eye for detail and enjoys projects involving creative concept development. Her skills in problem solving, collaboration and planning make her an excellent addition to any team.

Dawn is a Chartered Marketer and Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Outside of work, she keeps busy looking after her two young children and enjoys running and eating out.
