Jennifer is a student recruitment specialist with 20 years’ experience in domestic and international student recruitment and marketing. She has worked in universities in Scotland and England, and for a large private pathway provider, bringing breadth and depth of sector knowledge to her work at SUMS.

Jennifer is skilled in creating and delivering recruitment and marketing strategies that bring growth and diversity in support of institutional aims. Before joining SUMS Jennifer was Head of Global Engagement and Recruitment at the University of Dundee, where she led a team of recruitment professionals across 6 countries that delivered record student recruitment growth from key domestic and international target markets. Also at Dundee, Jennifer led on the establishment of a new international pathway college. This saw the University partner with a private provider for the first time, opening up a brand new channel of students and taking the internationalisation of the institution to a new level. She brings expertise in working with and bringing together professional services and academic colleagues right across an institution in pursuit of strategic objectives, and managing change and restructuring projects. Jennifer is passionate about the transformative power of Higher Education, and is experienced in outreach and widening access strategy.

Jennifer’s marketing expertise includes large institutional marketing projects, content creation and production, creative and media buying agency management, and metrics analysis to inform future strategy.

Her early career background was in Human Resource Management, working in the banking sector firstly as an HR partner, before moving on to OD as a graduate recruitment specialist. Jennifer has also spent time living and working in rural Kenya and South Africa.

An alumnus of the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde, Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management. She lives in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife with her husband and two daughters.
