Kay’s expertise is in data analysis and reporting (with an emphasis on qualitative data) to assess project and programme impact and performance. Her background is in evaluation and information management, and she has a Masters degree in information management.

With over 20 years experience providing consultancy in higher education, Kay is an experienced consultant and researcher delivering assignments for clients in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Kay works with clients at all levels in organisations, and uses her skills to enable organisations to fully utilise their information – either through the strategic implementation of policies, development of action plans, or by improved processes and information management.

Kay began her career in the NHS implementing a new data collection system, moving to work as information centre manager for a major utility provider, before moving into consultancy. Initially working for a niche information management consultancy delivering research and evaluation projects for Directorates General of the EU, Kay later moved to a more generalised management consultancy, where she focussed on the higher education sector. After relocating from London to South Wales in 2016, Kay has worked as a freelance consultant in the higher education sector and worked at the School of Management at Swansea University supporting European Social Fund projects in innovation and the circular economy. She joined SUMS as an associate consultant in 2022.

Kay lives in by the coast in Wales, and is developing her enthusiasm for vintage clothing and visible mending.
