Linda brings over 15 years of experience in higher education procurement, finance and insurance to her role with SUMS. Her most recent role at Lancaster University was as Procurement/Insurance Manager in which she was responsible for strategic and operational procurement, accounts payable, travel and insurance. Linda spent the previous 20 years in various procurement management roles in manufacturing and the supply chain including, Jaguar and Toyota cars.
Linda has led multi-functional teams supporting academic departments and senior staff for a sustained period.
Linda has a demonstrable track record of cost efficiency, business and process re-design and process improvement, successfully delivering cultural and transformational change and staff development whilst encouraging effective and value for money services both strategically and operationally.
With chief interests based on problem-solving, Linda loves the opportunity to listen to an organisation’s current business issues and to understand their strategic goals and aspirations regarding improving processes and removing inefficiencies. Linda has been well placed to draw on years of experience and many previous projects delivered over her career to help her take a practical approach to the art-of-the-possible.
In her spare time, Linda enjoys travelling and exploring new places. She is passionate about walking and hiking, particularly on long distance trails in the U.K. and Europe. Also, a foodie, she enjoys writing blogs and listening to music for pleasure.
