Ropinder joined SUMS as an associate in 2022 after over 20 years in the HE sector, bringing a wealth of experience in managing operational IT change and implementing software solutions to support all aspects of the student lifecycle.

Ropinder brings expertise in designing and developing digital solutions to transform and streamline complex ways of working. She has a strong understanding of the student lifecycle and a proven track record of programme, project and change management within the Higher Education (HE) landscape.

She specialises in being the bridge between technology and business stakeholders and is a proven communicator at all levels in HE. With a background in business analysis and IT, she brings expertise in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including working with stakeholders to refine and engineer requirements, managing technical teams and projects, and managing operational delivery.

A specialist in PRINCE2, Agile and waterfall approaches to managing programmes and projects, Ropinder is skilled in using the best-fit approach for different projects and teams. Her more recent implementations in HE have included the delivery of simplified processes and tools to digitise paper-based curriculum planning and management, and simplified processes and digital tools to support student wellbeing.

Ropinder is also passionate about mental health and wellbeing, having studied psychotherapy in her spare time to postgraduate level. She previously worked part-time as a psychotherapist for the NHS and currently volunteers as a counsellor for Childline.

In her leisure time, Ropinder loves maintaining her fitness via jogging, martial arts classes and yoga, and enjoys hiking with her family near their home in Leicestershire.
