Sylvie specialises in data analytics and reporting using technology such as SQL, Tableau and Power BI. She works closely with clients to define their requirements and translate them into data solutions to facilitate data informed decision-making.
Sylvie supports SUMS members and clients by working with them to define their business needs and translate them into technical specifications and data solutions in the form of Tableau dashboards, Excel tools, adhoc reports or other standalone tools/systems.
Sylvie joined SUMS in March 2023 following 15 years of experience working within higher education, technology, entertainment, and fitness industries. She started as a programmer/analyst working for a government contractor in the US and later had the opportunity to work for large entertainment developing small to medium size systems and project managing technology projects. After a move to the UK, Sylvie worked for technology companies and focused on data analytics and reporting using tools such as SQL, SSRS, the first generation of dashboard technologies like eDashboards and now Power BI and Tableau.
Outisde of work, Sylvie likes spending time with her husband, teenage son and dog. She enjoys long walks, eating out and travelling to Cornwall, the US and Mexico. Sylvie also loves music and fine art and owns 30+ paintings by various UK based artists, recently commissioning a painting of her dog Teddy.
How has Sylvie recently supported universities and the SUMS Group?
- EBooks KPI reporting tool working closely with the SUPC category managers to identify improvements and develop a new tool
- Framework Levy reporting improvement project working with the SUMS Finance team to streamline their data process
- Member Benefits Statement – helping to update and produce the 2022/23 academic year statement and working with the Data Lead on streamlining the process
- Marketing website analytics and social media analytics working with the SUMS Marcomms team
