Andy Nolan

Andy is an experienced, authentic, collaborative senior leader with expertise in sustainable development, estate strategy, planning and management.

He has 20+ years’ experience working in both the private and public sector and has worked in 4 universities (Bradford, Leeds Beckett and Sheffield) and Andy now works at the University of Nottingham as a Director in Estates and Facilities with responsibilities for portfolio management (the programme office), estate strategy and development and sustainability. Prior to that, Andy the Director of Sustainable Development at Sheffield City Council and has worked in multi-authority partnerships locally and nationally. Andy is actively engaged with both the Association of University Directors of Estates (AUDE) and is a long standing member and Fellow of the EAUC.

Andy’s current portfolio includes sustainability strategy, campus development, capital programme (circa £50m/yr), Programme Office and with an operational budget of circa £30m/yr including utilities, transport contracts, waste management.

Andy has particular interests in strategic estate planning, sustainability, multi-agency/ team working, universities, local government, capital projects, policy, coaching and mentoring, leadership.
