Harriet Waters
Harriet has over 20 years’ experience in sustainability, mostly in the higher education sector.
In her current role as Head of Environmental Sustainability at the University of Oxford, she developed an ambitious and comprehensive strategy with supporting business case to cover a fifteen year programme of £200m investment to achieve net zero carbon and a net gain in biodiversity by 2035.
In her previous role as Sustainability Manager at Oxford Brookes University, she achieved full ISO14001 certification of the environmental management system, through a collaboration of University support staff, academics, students, other universities and external auditors. She also created the University Corporate Responsibility Programme, facilitating and recruiting influential stakeholders to the governance structure.
